Three rivers to choose from in pursuit of resident and sea-run brown trout
GLENCROSS
Estancia Glencross, located in the Santa Cruz province of southern Patagonia on the high slopes of the magnificent Cordillera de los Andes, represents a new trout program in Patagonia not too far from Estancia Las Buitreras and represents one of the most iconic estancias in the province, as well as some of the most beautiful landscapes southern Patagonia has to offer. This iconic estancia spans 85,000 hectares of land and is an active farm. Within the estancia’s borders, anglers have three different river systems to choose from, all containing resident brown trout as well as the occasional and much larger sea-run browns. At this location, we mainly use light single hand tackle to target resident brown trout and sea-runs that make it all the way up the Gallegos River and into the Rubens and Penitente tributaries. Apart from fishing, our guests have the opportunity to engage in other activities including hiking and other excursions on request.

Two fishing sessions per day, in total 9-10 hours per day. At Glencross you can basically define your own fishing schedule, as this is a very private program with only 4 clients per week. Usually you divide your fishing days into two sessions, on in the morning and one in the evening. A week of fishing means 7 nights and 6 days of fishing. The half week program is 3 nights and 2,5 days of fishing.

Two clients have one guide with them every day. They will carry everything you need and help you how to fish the spots and assist with the casting, if necessary.

A focus on resident brown trout and sea trout. Average size usually varies between 7-10 Lbs, with seatrout up 30 lbs. Resident Brown trout reach sizes up to 12 lbs.

Our guests stay at the main house on the property, referred to as the Estancia, a beautiful structure built in the traditional southern patagonian style. Apart from guest rooms, the estancia is complete with a main dining area, a separate lounge, and a large outdoor asado area (where Argentinian barbeques are held). The house features a beautiful garden incl. homegrown vegetables and a farm to table concept.

The 4 rooms all of two single beds in each room, can be used as double or single rooms. There are two rooms and one bathroom based on the on side of the house, on the other side the other two rooms plus bathroom.
